What and when do I feed mice?

I want a mouse and am trying to find some answers. How often do I feed mice? What do you think I should be feeding them? Thanks for the input! What and when do I feed mice?
Just leave food in their tank, and if they continually eat, you'll have to feed them a few times, depending on their size. You can buy some food at the pet store. Try getting one with a good variety of snacks that aren't unhealthy, but will not make the mouse bored with it's food. You can also make home made food, but read about that first. Hope this helps, and good luck! What and when do I feed mice?
Mice should be free fed(have food in their cage at all times) so just give them a big hand full and this should last at least a few days. You should feed them Lab blocks. If you cannot find Lab blocks feed them the rat/mouse mixes you can find at any pet store and mix in some dog or cat food and that should be ok for them but Lab Blocks are best. Harlem is a good brand of lab blocks.

Other mouse tips: do NOT get two males and try and put them in the same cage. Males get territorial once they hit sexual maturity. Even brothers. And they will fight to the death. The best way to own mice is to have a single male ir to have 2 or more females. I suggest at least 3 females since multiple females are pretty entertaining! And mice are very social animals and thrive when they are kept in groups. But make sure the females are similar sizes/ages since older females may kill a younger one if it is not her daughter. Also, Mice thrive in BIG single level cages. Its best to have like a 20 gallon tank since mice can escape wire cages. If they can fit their head through they can squeez their body through.

It is best to get a mouse from a breeder than a pet store as most breeders handle their mice. Do NOT go to petco! I have gotten so many mice with tumors or respiratory infection form there.

Hope this helps =]

Rat pellets are the best bet. Just give them a pile of food, because mice do not over eat. Just feed when out of food!

(On a side note, if your wanting a pet you can mess with, skip mice, and go straight to rats. Mice are mean, refuse to be touched, bite, ect. If you want somethign to look at, mice are hard to beat! Rats don't bite, love to me messed with, and are extremely friendly.

Don't get two male mice, cause they will eventually kill each other. Plus they smell really bad. (all mice do, but males are worse.)

i know you have probably looked into it, but a little advice never hurts!
