I love mice and have a perfect place for them. So don't tell me how hard it can be. I want to breed some of those little tiny feeder mice and keep them as pets. Also how many pinkies will i get. Ten points for best answer. How do you breed mice?
Well you need a boy and a girl... lol jks
I suggest you start with just one female and one male (Until you get use to breeding then you can add more females). You need to make sure there is little holes or spaces where the mice can get out, they tend to chew the cage and try to get out, SO MAKE YOUR CAGE MICE PROOF.
The babies will take an average of 19-21 days to be born(You will get around 9-10 but can get 20!) and will need a schedule around 12 hours of night and 12 hours of day.
For the bedding you could use newspaper, aspen chips if you can find any, they have no oils so they would be the safest, cedar or pine shavings or just the stuff you can purchase from a pet store would work.
Oh yea and when the mice are born you will have to remove the male or he will try to eat the babies!
For their diet they will drink from their mother but when they are old enough they will just eat ordinary mouse food.
Good luck with you mice and if you need any more info just look up ';How To Breed Mice'; in google :)How do you breed mice?
They do all of the work Just stick them in the same cage and they will breed endlessly. The amount of mice you will get out of each mother will not always be the same. When you do breed them, separate the other mice from the mother and the babies.
Mice are very easy to breed. You should have 5-10 pinkies per litter. Just be careful when she first has them. They bite to protect their babies when they are first born. I used to have pet rats and pet mice. They make great pets.
Put the male and female in the same cage and in 21 days you will have baby mice. They can have 1-6 or more at a time.
just let em go at it! but be sure to separate them when youve had enough!
