My cat loves to fetch little mice! How come?

If you throw them she'll fetch! One time she even fetched a tampon, haha. Why? Why do some cats not do this? How did she learn?My cat loves to fetch little mice! How come?
Well I wouldnt be throwing tampons for the cat to play with, what on earth even possessed you to do that? ;)





Cats like to chase, most will chase anything that moves, where as some are lazy, and cant be bothered.





I once had a cat who wouldnt chase mice, she actually ran from them. I lived in a place where mice would come up when it would rain hard, and she would run away from them. Extremely odd, but its how she was... most cats will go right after them.My cat loves to fetch little mice! How come?
The same reason why men chase after women. At least straight men if you want to be politically correct.





It's their nature, natural predatory instinct to pounce and chase after things that move, crawl and fly. If it doesn't move, crawl or fly, the cat will make it move, crawl or fly and then pounce and chase.





It's the thrill of the hunt.
When cats are babies, they are taught to hunt. They first get taught how eat a mouse, then they get a dead one to play with, then they learn how to kill one. So your cat is just showing you what level she thinks you are. I don't want to know where that tampon had been either
She loves to chase and she's smart enough to realize that if she brings the toy back you'll throw it so she can chase it again.


I don't think they all understand how/why a toy gets thrown. Yours just may be a bit more clever and more motivated.
Cats are carnivores and predators so it is natural for them to chase, kill and sometimes eat small animals (even if they're not hungry). This is how they survived before they were domesticated.
Cats like to fetch anything. If you put a bell on it they will go crazy!!!! lol. One of my cats chases rubber bands. the other one chases mice too.
it's their nature..........they love to catch birds, mice and most of the time bring it back to mommy or daddy. they want you to be proud! lol!
she is an animal. that is why.
