The book '; Of Mice and Men'; Question for chapters 2,3,4?

Do you think the workers form a friendly and supportive community or are they all looking out for themselves? Why?The book '; Of Mice and Men'; Question for chapters 2,3,4?
I do not think the workers form a friendly and supportive community for many reasons. I think that they are all pretty much looking out for themselves with the exception of George and Lennie. George and Lennie have a true friendship. They travel together, share the same dream, and keep each other company. This is why Candy and Crooks are so drawn to their dream; because they are both looking for companionship and a way to escape isolation.

Candy is excluded due to his difference in age and disablity. Also, all of the workers did not agree with him on believing that his sheep dog should live. This ends up depressing his mood and become more lonely.

Curley's wife is not accepted because of the fact that she is a woman and that she is married to Curley. None of the men want to mess with Curley, so therefore she winds up lonely. She fantazies about becoming an actress and going to Hollywood in a way to escape from this boring worl at the ranch.

Crooks is isolated from the rest of the workers because he is African American. I think this is truely unjust! He is constantly alone, excluded from all the card games in the bunkhouse except for on Chirstmas, and has no friends except Lennie.

Hope this helps and pick me as your best answer cuz this took me forever to write!

lol :D
