How do I get rid of mice?

I live in Texas and i live in a town but i live next to a field so i have a problem with field mice. I just moved in like a month ago and i have caught like 4 mice and still catching. How can i keep them out or get rid of them perm. How do I get rid of mice?
Dr. Strigoi here

In Romania we use a great solution because mice cant stand the taste and eventually leave. Take a bottle add what is it how you say tablespoons 4 of Cinnamon and 1/4 of milk and mix well. Let it sit outside in the sun for awhile about a day. Then take it to the mouse hole if you can find one or where you see them coming from. After you know it they will be gone and be assured it wont leave them dead in your home its a complete animal friendly deterrent. How do I get rid of mice?
I am not sure you can if you live close to a field. Field mice are worse then bunnies and produce more babies. Trapping them will not work because you would have to have way too many traps to catch them all, and Poison can be very dangerous if you have small kids or other animals around. If you know of any entry points into your house, you can fix them points so they can not get in. Have a professional come in and they should e able to tell you exactly where the mice are coming in and fix it up. If you want to try traps and poison, make sure they are in a spot that can not harm anything else.

They have those newer ultrasonic and electronic devices you can put around your house that is suppose to keep the rodents away. Here is a good site to get info about them at.

Happy mouse hunting
Sorry Dr. Strogoi, you must of just put your white coat on! HA! (Medical Joke).

But you are right, not entirely. You need 1 tbl spoon of cinnamon and 8 oz of milk. The reasons for putting it into the sun for a whole 24hrs (a day) is because it will churn and create a disinfectant solution. You take cotton swab or paint brush and smear the mixture around the mouse hole or in certain parts of your house. Mice are allergic to cinnamon, and the milk will create a phosphorus gland inside and around the mouse or mice and will eventually decease the rodents.

whatever you do dont kill them using a cat or especially glue traps! those are such mean ways of doing it. just get a live trap and set it free outside.

mice have feelings to ^_^

little bunny foo foo hoppin through the forest pickin up the field mice and boppin em on the head ^_^
put mouse traps under you house or in your basement you can also get a outdoor cat a stray or something like that i have also hear of people putting a rat snake or any snake that eats mice one native would be best.
In your area, a cat (spayed or neutered) would be your best bet.

Mice also do not like chamomile. Purchase a few boxes of tea and leave the tea bags in spots where you've seen droppings.
Well, either put down traps or poison, or get a cat, or wait until Spring when they will return to the fields.
get a cat. spay said cat. let cat catch mice.
Hand Grenades.
Agreed, get a cat...or 2
yes get sum cats
