You can go to sparknotes they'll give you some information on the characters. This should help.

Idid'nt mean no harm George

now read the wayward bus by steinbeck
Hi there.

Sparknotes should give you an overview of all the characters. Feel free to read about that, and then think about how that sits with you. Does it make sense? Can you understand why they say that? Be prepared to come up with your own interpretation so you can respond to any further questions or justify your answer. Thinking of examples about why he is a compassionate person also helps.

Good luck :-))
He was a good friend to the strangers when they arrived - he showed them ';the ropes'; and made them feel welcome. He was kind-hearted and decent. A real ';do the right thing'; kinda guy.

Good luck!
no but i heard it was very good
Yes. I thought Candy was the girl that gets killed? Its been a while since I read it.
He loves his dog and is willing to help others
He is a stable worker who lost his hand in an accident at work and he was going to use the compensation from the accident to part be of George and Lennie's dream.

He is an outsider, he doesn't like or doesnt want company from other people.

God, I hated that book!!!! They made us read it at school - It doesnt make learning fun! At all!
he loves his dog.

sensitive.

and not much else/

out class just read that book and i dont remember much..LOL
An aging ranch handyman, Candy lost his hand in an accident and worries about his future on the ranch. Fearing that his age is making him useless, he seizes on George鈥檚 description of the farm he and Lennie will have, offering his life鈥檚 savings if he can join George and Lennie in owning the land. The fate of Candy鈥檚 ancient dog, which Carlson shoots in the back of the head in an alleged act of mercy, foreshadows the manner of Lennie鈥檚 death.
Candy has a friend in his dog; in some ways this dog reflects Candy's character, it is old and sort of past it, so when they want to kill it it means more. But that is a different topic.
he is a push-over because he is so easy going. he can be said to be scared of anyone that is stronger than him.

he loved his dog. Good hearted man that wanted to help people.

great book
He is a compassionate person and for him to let his dog be shot is the ultimate act of compassion because he knew that it would be cruel for it to stay alive when it was having such a cruel life. It is related to george being the dog and lenny being candy it is a juxtopositioning of charachters and that is why candy knows what Lenny must be going through.
i would describe him as an old man who has been through a lot and all he has is his dog but when people want to take that from him he is willing to get out of there and try to start over
I had to read this book for Language Arts earlier this year. Candy is an aged kind, gentle and wise person who fears that his fate will be the fate of what happened to his dog because of his age and lack of family who can take care of him when he can't work anymore.
he is lonely
About a zillion people. You and a few of your friends are probably the only ones that haven't.
he loves his dawg and he is very important to him
