I noticed i have mice in my apartment and is it possible they have it and I might have gotten it from them? Can you get a ringworm from mice?
You can absolutely get tinea (ringworm) from animals. It is usually a very inflammatory rash if the fungus comes from an animal.
Usually, we think of dogs and cats as caring ringworm and transferring it to humans. If it is a pet mouse you can take it to your vet to see if it has tinea. I doubt you would get tinea from wild mice.
Tinea is also passed from person to person from sharing towels etc...Can you get a ringworm from mice?
No
1. you have to have very close contact to pass the fungus - for example, sleeping with your dog in your bed.
2. you have to give the fungus proper conditions to grow.
no matter what your dog has, you will not get a fungal infection on your skin unless you stop washing your skin, and allow the skin to be damp all day so that the fungus can grow ( I assume you are aware that ';ringworm'; is a fungal infection.)
And I also assume that you are not regularly hugging the mouse all night while you sleep, and you're probably not even ';petting'; the mouse -- so transmission of a fungus from the mouse to you is impossible.
I agree with Eman on this one
